La única
ley
que respeto
es la del revólver
el fuego
y la ceniza
camino
por un mundo hueco
donde la servidumbre
es
la aristocracia
me dirijo
hacia
el final del tiempo
donde las tostadas
de
hombres
y la mermelada de
mujeres
son
el desayuno
de los Dioses Grises

The only law
I respect
is the law of the revolver,
the fire
and the ashes
I walk
through a hollow world
where servitude
is
the aristocracy
I'm heading
towards
the end of time
where men's toast
and
women's jam
are the breakfast
of the Grey Gods

Rindo tributo
Ofrezco sacrificio
Mi mano izquierda
y su
sendero mentiroso
Es cortada
por
por el filo del hacha
Me duele
Pero soporto el dolor
Enciendo
la fogata
Entrego huesos
de antiguos
guerreros
Las llamas
son
mi libro
mi devoción
Tomo asiento
sobre
la arena
para
contemplar cómo
el sol
se convierte en un huevo
uno con senos rubicundos
que ofrecen
la gloria de la leche
siempre
negada
siempre
acorralada
---
I pay tribute
I offer sacrifice
My left hand
and its
lying path
It's cut by
the axe's edge
It hurts me
But I endure the pain
I light up
the campfire
I entrust bones
of ancient warriors
The flames
are
my book
my devotion
I take my seat
on the sand
to contemplate how
the sun
becomes an egg
one with rubicund breasts
that offer
the glory of milk
always denied
always cornered

Conocí
en el camino
a
muchas viudas
todas
ellas vestían
el luto
llevaban a
cuestas los cadáveres
abiertos
de
sus esposos
el olor
que desprendían
era
inaguantable
vomité
cuando
las vi
una de ellas
se compadeció
me lamió los ojos
con
su lengua sucia
me
alejé corriendo
atrás
quedaron ellas
las de negro
las que siempre llorarán
---
I met
a lot of widows
on the road
they all
wore mourning
they carried their
husbands' open corpses
on their backs
the smell
was unbearable
I threw up
when
I saw them
one of them felt
pity on me
she licked my eyes
with her dirty tongue
I ran away
They were left
behind
the ones in black
the ones who will always cry

Me
ataron a los recuerdos
de
mi madre
quedé
sujeto a imágenes
de
maridos de barro
con
puños de acero
a
abuelas que no
querían
a sus nietos
sino
que los
devoraban en año nuevo
me dejaron
encerrado durante mil días
recluido
con mi madre
sus
infiernos fueron míos
nunca
un paraíso
ni siquiera uno pequeño
para
llevar en el
bolsillo
nunca
---
They tied me
to the
memories of
my mother
I was subjected
to images of
husbands of mud
with steel fists
grandmothers who did not love
their grandchildren
but that devoured them on New Year's Eve
they left me
locked up for a thousand days
confined
with my mother
her hells
were mine
never
a paradise
not even a small one
to carry
in the pocket
never

Se arrodilló
para recibir de los Dioses Grises
un
beso prohibido
Le abrieron
los brazos
Le colocaron
cadenas
y muchas monedas oxidadas
Cosieron
las aberturas
Le dieron un nombre nuevo: AL GER NON
Y lo
enviaron muy lejos
para
combatir contra
enemigos
peligrosos
que ponían en vilo
la
patria y la religión
pero
él
jamás
retornó
hubo rumores
de
que Al Ger Non
se
habría enamorado
de
la hija de
un importante adversario
no
se pudo comprobar
ya que
nadie quería ir a
la
tierra de los enemigos
allí
todo era terrible
mejor
olvidar
para ser olvidado
---
He knelt down
to receive from the Grey Gods
a forbidden kiss
They made
deep cuts in his arms
In those wounds
they introduced chains
and many rusty coins
They sewed
the cuts
and gave him a new name: AL GER NON
They sent him far away
to combat against
dangerous enemies
that put on edge
homeland and religion
but he never
came back
there were rumours
that Al Ger Non
would have fallen in love
with an important adversary’s daughter
it wasn't
possible to verify it
because nobody wanted to go
to the
land of the enemies
everything was
terrible there
better
to forget
to be forgotten

Todos los monstruos
fueron confinados
a una caja de cristal
Nadie
podía tocarla
Solo
el sumo sacerdote
que
tenía cuatro cabezas
y
cola de ratón
Él podía manipular
los
monstruos encerrados
extraer
de
ellos información
y
tejer un grimorio
de tela
una prenda mágica
que
llevará
aquel
elegido para matar
a
los Dioses Grises
así
fue oído
así será repetido durante generaciones

All the monsters
were confined
to a crystal box
No one could
touch it
Only the high priest
who had
four heads
and a mouse's tail
He could manipulate
the monsters locked up
extract information
from them
and weave a
grimoire of cloth
a magic garment
that will wear that chosen one
to kill
the Grey Gods
thus it was heard
thus it will be repeated for generations

Mi
espada está
blanda
mis palabras también
Fui
poeta
Ahora
soy una
cosa decrépita que se arrastra
en
muros
ruginosos
Me
escupen
Se burlan de mi
espada
blanda
Dicen que ya
no combato
porque
me
falta coraje
Vengan
Atrévanse
a
tocar un solo pelo
de
mi barba prehistórica
Y
mi espada
será
otra vez rígida
Los cortaré
en rebanadas
Vengan
---
My sword
is soft
my words are too
I was
a poet
Now I'm a
decrepit thing
that crawls
on rough walls
They spit on me
They mock
my soft sword
They say
I don't fight anymore
because
I lack courage
Come on
Dare to touch
a single hair
from my prehistoric beard
And my sword
will be stiff again
I'll cut you
into slices
Come on

El ángel negro
tenía
alas blancas
y
manos rojas
con
las que construía armas
para
nosotros
el mundo
podía ser
algo
mejor
pero no quería
serlo
En cambio,
el caos y sus hijas
eran
más dulces
utilizamos
las
armas del ángel negro
para
atacar
a nuestros amigos
los
engañamos
les
ofrecimos promesas
imposibles
de cumplir
Y nos
creyeron
Pintamos nuestras manos de rojo
tal
como el ángel negro
y
jalamos
los gatillos
toda
la pólvora
del universo destruyó al universo
y
casi
inmediatamente
creó otro
Allí
no había ángel negro
ni
espacio
para religión alguna
Solo
la supervivencia
del
más frágil
---
The black angel
had
white wings
and red hands
with which he made
weapons for us
the world could be
something better
but it didn't want to be it
On the other hand,
chaos and its daughters
were sweeter
we use the black angel’s weapons
to attack
our friends
we fooled them
we offered promises
impossible
to be fulfilled
And they
believed us
We paint our hands red
such like the black angel
and
we pull
the triggers
all gunpowder
of the universe destroyed the universe
and almost straight away
it created another
There was
no black angel
nor room
for any religion
Only survival
of
the most fragile

La
victoria de la derrota
los árboles
de hojas humanas
gritando
toda la noche
que fue día
acariciada
por la mejilla cortada
que
sangra lucidez
fuimos derrotados
en
nuestro éxito
asesinamos
al rey y entronamos
a la reina
asesinamos
a la reina y entronamos
al mendigo
sus
órdenes fueron
curiosas: convertir el aire en tierra;
que
los perros fueran gatos;
que
las mujeres fueran hombres;
que
toda vida se asemejara a la muerte
el
rey mendigo
sabio
loco
eremita
querido
odiado
aplaudido
pisoteado
ningún libro registró
su
reinado
pero
algunos de nosotros
todavía
lo recordamos
vive
en nuestro corazón
de hielo
---
The victory
of defeat
human leaf trees
screaming
all night
which it was day
caressed
by the cut cheek
that bleeds lucidity
we were defeated
in our success
we murdered
the king and enthroned
the queen
we murdered
the queen and enthroned
the beggar
his orders
were curious:
to turn the air into earth;
that dogs were cats;
that women were men;
that all life should resemble death
the beggar king
wise
madman
hermit
cherished
hated
acclaimed
trampled
no book recorded
his reign
but some of us
still remember him
he lives in our
icy heart

Atrapamos
a todos
los
idiotas
Los
destripamos
y
cocinamos a fuego lento
¡Qué
sabrosa
la
carne de idiota!
Ennoblece
Ensalza
Al contrario de lo que
creen
las ancianas,
comer
carne de idiota no te convierte en uno
Te
vacuna
contra
ellos
---
We catch
all
the idiots
We gut them
and simmered them
How tasty
is the meat of an idiot!
Exalt
Extol
Contrary to
what old ladies think,
eating meat of idiot
doesn't make you one of them
It immunises you
against them

Las
serpientes
se
cansaron y se
irguieron
Miraron
a
los Dioses Grises
Los
insultaron
Prometieron venganza
y
muchas otras
calamidades
Después
construyeron
barcas
óseas
Surcaron
el
firmamento
con intención de hallar la morada sagrada
Pero
su
misión fracasó
El fuego gris cayó sobre ellas
El polvo
de
las mártires
descendió
sobre
la tierra
y formó un lago
Hasta allí
van
los desesperados
A suplicar
Pero
nadie
les responde
---
The snakes
got tired
and stood up
They looked
at the Grey Gods
They insulted them
They promised revenge
and many other calamities
Then they built
skeletal boats
They furrowed
the firmament
intending to find
the sacred abode
But their mission
failed
Grey fire
fell on them
The dust
of the martyrs
descended
on the Earth
and formed a lake
There is where
the desperate go
to beg
But no one
answers to them

Detrás
del beso
había una traición
Labios
fríos
casi de muerto
Ella
me
abrazó
y me clavó
un cuchillo tan largo y filoso
que
todo mi cuerpo fue
puré
La
faz de la Tierra
es
también la faz
de
una tumba
sin
nombre
Allí
iremos
a reposar
a buscar nuestros caramelos
de
sangre
---
Behind the kiss
there was a betrayal
Cold
lips
almost of dead
She
embraced me
and stabbed me
with a knife so long and sharp
that my whole body got
mashed
The face
of the Earth
is also
the face
of an unnamed tomb
There we will go
to rest
to look for
our blood candies

THE BEACH OF THE DEAD is a collection of poems written and recited by multi-artist Diego Arandojo, accompanied by a musical work of composer Darío Martínez.
A work that is thrown into the depths of the liquid and the carnal.
Death is understood not as a physical disappearance, but as an extension of the agony of existence. Languid poems that twist in the eardrums of eternity.
Only the Grey Gods can cure the disease of being alive.
